The extension seat belt we give out to customers with babies on their lap are issued in compliance with British CAA regulations. They are to be used for infants under 2 years old. They must be used for take off and landing. This applies regardless of where they are sitting (front row or mid cabin). This is really an issue for passengers since on some airlines the use of extension seat belts is mandatory and enforced and on other airlines the use of these extension seat belts is considered unsafe and forbidden (as I have witnessed on several other airlines). CC should not blame the passengers who might be confused by the fact the the rules are not consistent between airlines and BA CC should simply explain the BA airline regulations and ask passengers to comply with these without threatening to off load them.
