This was never the case, I simply thought a van/minibus could ferry us
directly to the ALA flight, with no need to visit the terminal building at all,
clearly feasible and not expensive at all, I guess Lufthansa must have already
dished out thousands of euros in rebookings (10 passengers, including at least 2-3 in business) and a further few thousand may be due in compensation.
I had a similar experience at the (old and crowded) Vienna Airport, even though
I was only in economy, arriving late from LHR I was taken to my GYD flight
by a separate transfer, allowing me and other passengers to make the connection

Re: short connection time

This was booked by my client, I had little say in the process (I understand
I could have insisted on 0830 AM though). And there were no KC or BA
fligths on the day.

In fact, the BA flight to ALA on May 9 was cancelled altogher, and at least
one unfortunate passenger flying with me was in transit from Friday (arrived in Almaty on Sunday morning). Odd they did not book him on the 0830 flight either?
