The fee is pretty much in line with most carriers.

The reasonableness is determined by the market. AA can seek any fee it wants. If people are willing to pay it, it's reasonable.

Do bear in mind that overweight / oversize fees are less intended to make money than to discourage behavior. Heavy & large bags require extra handling and that's a pain.
