Sorry but I cannot agree with the above statements. 80 minutes should be perfectly doable and I don't see why FRAport/LH shouldn't send a mini-bus or van to pick connecting passengers regardless of the class of travel.
For me the question is not what LH/FRAport should be providing or not.
I can only live in the real world. An a real-time regular flyer at LHR and FRA, I would not book a 80 minute connection. Its no help for me in a real misconnect situation, when I am starting to rant at LH/FRAport.
Example:
ALA-FRA-LHR,
sure, I can live with an 80 minute connection, because if I misconnect, I will be rebooked to a flight to LHR one hour later. Who cares about his seat assignment for an one hour flight anyway?
But the other way around (LHR-FRA-ALA), its very tricky. One doesnt want to loose his seat on a longhaul/midhaul flight.
But here you see the reason, why nonstop flights are usually more expensive than connection. Biz travellers hate to miss their connections.
melafafon has chosen to connect at FRA, instead he could have opted for a nonstop flight on KC or BA. Probably he has chosen LH, because upgrade space has become available on FRA-ALA. A revenue C-class tickets on KC or BA would have probably cost much more.
