Hi NDDomer86,

I am sorry to hear of your recent experiences. This does not reflect the standards that you rightly expect from Sixt.

Please could you send me a private message with your reservation details, and I will be happy to look into this for you.

Many thanks,

Gary Caudwell.

I noticed something interesting in the meantime. It appears that my car having 43,000 miles AND temporary plates is not a fluke. On the website, it lists the Ford Fusion as the example SCAR. Finding the "new" Fusion to be a better rental than the Altima, and surprised at the SCAR classification when most companies are now listing it as FCAR, I was hoping there would be one on the lot for me to be able to swap into. Indeed when I pulled up there was a Ford Fusion with a temporary tag pulled up at the front of the office, but it was, wait for it, a 2012 or older model!!! Yes, it was a previous generation Fusion. It seems that this location buys used cars to rent out in their fleet!!! I have seen this before amongst franchised locations in Europe, but have never seen this in the US amongst the major car rental companies.

I know that operations such as Rent-A-Wreck and local car rental companies do this often, but I would have expected much better from Sixt, particularly in the US where they are trying to rapidly expand their market share .

Also, almost all of their cars have noticeable to significant damage including deep keyed marks covering the rear passenger quarterpanel of my vehicle (which I did not notice upon checkout as it was dark, but they admitted was preexisting before my pickup).
