On UA 871 SFO-TPE I sat in row 6 and got my porridge breakfast unaware of the "porridge shortage" problem.

On UA 872 TPE-SFO a few days ago I was in row 7 and couldn't get porridge. It was almost shocking to hear FA say that only 2 servings were loaded for J. Fortunately before departure I had plenty of the excellent porridge-with-fish in SilverKris Lounge.

I agree with you on the small serving size of the porridge. There isn't much fixings either. Next time before boarding UA 872 I'll definitely go to either BR or SQ lounge to enjoy their porridge.

For the mid-flight snack I got seafood soup on UA 871. It had a good number of large shrimp and sea scallops albeit too salty for my taste. The snack on my UA 872 flight was noodle soup with TWO wontons. It tasted very good and was reasonably filling. Perhaps I just got lucky?
