I've been debating to pay extra to take AA for a trip to Japan in October of this year. The reason I wasn to pay extra and take AA is because I have enought miles to get an upgrade for my wife and I. But then I looked at flyerexpert tonight and I saw that there's no seat available in the C Class.

I just wanted to ask others. What are the chances of the upgrade clearing for my wife and I My wife wants to take cheaper flight, and willing to take AA only if we can upgrade...

Thought about just calling them, but wanted to ask the experts before I call and buy the tickets.
