Slightly More Than a Day in Bangkok

Our first afternoon and evening in Bangkok, we visited the Jim Thompson House & Museum, did some shopping, had sunset drinks at the Vertigo Grill Moon Bar at the Banyan Tree Hotel and had a small dinner. We focused our sight-seeing during the following day since we had a late checkout and evening flight. The next morning we took a taxi to the Chao Phraya river and hopped on the Chao Phraya Tourist Express Boat to Wat Pho and Phra Vihara (with the Reclining Buddha). After spending more time than expected walking around Wat Pho, we walked to the nearby expansive Grand Palace, which was much more crowded. After baking in the mid-day heat and sun of the Grand Palace, we went back to the Chao Phraya and took the ferry across to Wat Arun and climbed up the steep steps. Eventually, we took a ferry to a taxi back to the hotel.
