Thanks to all for the advice. My understanding was that the exemption would be handled in Beijing, but my call with Air China today was a bit confusing. I'll be sure to have everything printed out.

One last question: I'm assuming that after arriving in HKG on Cathay I'll be able to transfer to the Air China Beijing flight *without* having to go through HKG immigration, correct?
