I'm always polite and just walk out, but on the inside I get upset that CVS managers' inability (stupidity) to correctly comprehend a corporate memo means that I have to drive to a CVS even further away (first world problem for sure)
I agree that I am always polite but I get upset too when I know the transaction should occur. The odd thing that happened to me is this same manager sold me OV's a week ago and said I believe these are cash only. I assured him they could be purchased with cc and he said we will give it a try. Most of the cashiers at this store won't let me buy OV's on multiple transactions. They are happy to split payment though. When I brought the OV's to the counter, I asked if I could purchase them in different transactions and he said sure. When he scanned the first card a message in a gray rectangle popped up on the screen. He asked how I was paying and turned the screen to show me what it said. It said something along the lines of paying for cash/gift tender with a cc. Then he had the choice to push yes or no. Then he grabbed the gun with a ton of buttons on it and the cards came up not on file. After that it was a lost cause because if the gun said not a file, he made the statement that they should be off the shelves. Though, when I came back later they were still all over the store but he told the next clerks that they were cash only.

I have decided to lay low at CVS and come back in a couple of weeks. The problem is all the cashiers know me and the details of how I make my purchases. While I can purchase gc's elsewhere, it has been so easy at CVS.

Oh well. It was bound to happen.
