Given how pathetic ba.com is, and the ridiculous 1 hr+ wait times on the BAEC phone lines, can one just look up inventory on AA.com (somewhat faster and more flexible then ba.com), and assume that a BA agent will be able to find it?
Or can I even put an AA hold on it and have the BA agent take over the reservation? (and pay with Avios/ 2-4-1 etc).?
[I found availability on BA.com yesterday and called and after 93 minutes on hold got a live agent and got disconnected (my mistake - I was being courteous in trying to turn off the speaker phone when I hit the disconnect button instead

And now it's gone
