Sounds like he was just confused about the specifics of the VR memo. That's why he said it was "corporate". Not everyone reads as closely as we do. Or checks the numbers on the memo against the VGC numbers.
I have had more than one cashier/manager try to feed me the spill that it was on the corporate memo. I have a nice cashier that I visit regularly and he was patient enough with me to show him the difference between OV and MyVanilla. Others just read "Vanilla" and "reloadable"
