We did get points for our dinner at this hotel. But they have really messed up on taking the certificates. We had 3 one night certificates to cover the 3 night stay. Looking at my account yesterday, they have now taken 60000 points (2 nights at the new cat 6 level) plus only one certificate.

When I spoke to Marriott Rewards they initially thought the hotel couldn't process the free night certificates as they were not Cat 6 but when I pointed out they'd managed to process one certificate they were stumped. Unfortunately they have to raise some sort of special request to get my 60000 points back and the 2 extra certificates processed. This apparently will take 72 hours. I have a feeling I'll have to call again to get this sorted...

Otherwise the hotel was nice. We got upgraded to a superior room in the old courtyard at the back and this was a lovely room. Not sure I'd have liked the standard rooms as they were drilling in the street all day directly below those rooms. Worth the extra if you had to pay for the superior rooms I think.

As Platinum, we did get free 'continental' breakfast. But they are very specific on this. Free continental breakfast is precisely juice, coffee or tea, toast and pastries. Anything else from the extensive buffet (yogurt, cheese, meat, fruit for example) would result in an additional 10 euro charge each for using the buffet. They specified the included and excluded items verbally at check in, on the breakfast card to hand in, and again when arriving at breakfast, except on our first morning when the guy didn't seem bothered what we ate. We were very careful not to even take a bread roll on our second morning though as the breakfast guy that morning was literally watching exactly what we took and ate.

Internet was OK, the restaurant was good and drinks at the bar in the courtyard were lovely with a good range of cocktails, spirits and wines.
