I always feel it's betetr to be slightly cooler than too warm - if it's cold you can add layers, if too hot it's not really appropriate to sleep in your underwear!!
I agree 100%, I have had too many experiences of waking up sweating and having to ask the cabin crew to turn the temperature down.
