I don't question anything you say - they are your experiences tied with your travel preferences. I would however question why you carry on with collecting.
I won't bore you with why my experience is different - there are many on this board who are delighted with what Avios bring to them - and I am one of them. Quite frankly, it is a scheme which clearly is not right for everyone.
