A temporary license is just that a valid Drivers License that you can use until the card comes in the mail. If a Car Rental Agent tries to refuse you to use it politely remind them that it takes up to 6 weeks to get the card in the mail and that a valid State ID with the temporary license is accepted by any law enforcement officer.
