Data users have been reporting that T-Mo's system scan/check for IMEI and configuration, etc. while doing the activation for the data only plan, and devices other than iPads are having difficulties, requiring a trip to a local T-Mo store for help, and once the setup is configured, it's bonded or locked to the device's IMEI number so that you cannot move it around for use on a different device to do things like VOIP.

Is it possible that some advanced users skilled in mobile computing/IT skills can do it with workarounds but don't expect that to get posted or circulated on these public forum, or it will be promptly noticed & loopholes shut down.

The "data only" combi-Sim or the nano-Sim are regularly priced @ $10 online with activation built-in and often just 99 cents with free shipping - occassionally given away FREE with free shipping. Just check back with the prepaid t-mo sites often for specials.
