Very helpful post, thanks! I was already inclined to stay at the Hyatt (as evidenced by my posting here rather than the Sheraton thread, and the distribution of my past stays). With the usual difference in paid rates (Sheraton often $100 more than Hyatt) or points requirements (really, $180 + 10k points for the Sheraton???), it's a no-brainer, but with the booking at the old old C&P rate, I was inclined to give the Sheraton another go. But really, weighing the pros and cons, there's a small chance that a stay at the Sheraton would be vastly better (if upgraded to a Kai or Pualani suite), but under normal circumstances, the Hyatt wins out.

I'm not quite sure if you're referring to my post, but as
Jet Away points out, I was talking about the views from the club. As you may know, the Sheraton club has spectacular views (which IMO is the only edge the Sheraton club has over Hyatt). When staying at the Hyatt, I often leave the club and head to my room to watch the sunset.
As for the pictures you posted, I'm well familiar with, and enjoy that view. What would be more pertinent to the comparison of Hyatt vs Sheraton is the question which has a better view, and IMO, the Hyatt is slightly preferable here, although I can imagine many would prefer the views of Waikiki from the Sheraton.
