In all likelihood the BA agents wont be able to upgrade the ticket over the phone either, if your company has a corporate deal then the chances are you'll have a BT/IT travel agent fare, whereby the BA staff cant actually see the cost of the ticket, making it impossible to see what additional collection there would need to be.
