My wife went to Camp Sea Gull - Seafarer in North Carolina when she was growing up and still has fond memories.

They do have a 2 week day camp sessions for 6 year olds (and several sessions during the summer) but unfortunately the nearest SPG property seems to be 2 hours away in Raleigh.
