Starting a Diamond challenge soon and I'm taking a weekend trip with some friends in two weeks. I'll be getting in late Thursday and staying at a HP by the airport then staying at the HR or GH in town Friday and Saturday night.

Question is, if I add a night to the HP airport stay for a friend to stay (very inexpensive incremental cost due to weekend plus My Elite Rate), which will run simultaneous to the HR/GH reservation I'll be moving on to, will this help with qualifying nights for the Diamond challenge? Or any other benefits?
