Oh?
A friend pulled out her Nokia on a crowded bus to answer a call. As she disconnected, the guy sitting next to her showed her a knife, took the phone and got off the bus.
I'm fine with using an orelhao. There seem to be plenty around for my calling needs.
And I doubt many WC or other short term tourists really need to be on a cell constantly in touch, even if they are accustomed at home.
Simple local calls: Orelhao
Calls to other cities: outrageously expensive anyway, can be made from orelhao
Using GPS in public place: calls attention of any potential thief
Calls to home country: Skype from Internet cafe
