That is inaccurate. The thunderstorm part is a general comment applied to all departures from the airport around that time. I imagine its purpose is so that (on some on-time flight) an agent can say something like "Your flight is currently showing on-time, but there have been some thunderstorms in the area so there might be delays." The official delay reason is this part of the output:
