I have an upcoming trip all on Cathay. JFK-HKG-DPS, with about 4.5 hr layover in HKG. However, I booked the JFK-HKG and HKG-DPS legs separately (wasn't sure at first if I wanted to go directly to DPS or have time in HK). My question is, when checking-in at JFK, will they be able to see this and check my luggage all the way to DPS? I'd like to avoid the hassle of having to do immigration/baggage/customs and then checkin again and clear security in HKG, and instead just do a transfer. Thanks in advance.
