Maybe this is going to become a Diamond benefit like AA does? AA provides free drink and PERISHABLE snack for their top-tier elites not upgraded/sitting in Y. Seems expensive, but for many is the reason they stick with AA. Who knows if US management will keep it, but is yet another reason to move to AA (at least as of now).
