I am guessing that you can interline with Starflyer if you get a NH codeshare. CA will see it as connecting to NH, which must be possible. But you will have to take your bags to the domestic counter and recheck them anyway. The cutoff for Japanese domestic is usually 20 min. So there is no advantage in getting your BP in China if you are checking bags. You normally cannot get an online BP if you are using another carrier's miles for ANA domestic.
When you purchase tickets via ANA for Starflyer then the fare is higher. I have flown Starflyer HND-KIX (great airline!) with mileage tickets; then you actually check in with ANA and also use the ANA lounge, which is great. The first time I did it then I walked to the far corner of the airport where there is a Starflyer counter. They were very confused and could not find my reservation.
I finally decided to buy Jetstar fare. Any experience with passing the immigration and customs after landing in KIX? I am especially concerned, if the flight is delayed or long queue in Immigration, do they have a special lane for tight connection passengers?
