That's not standby for 2 reasons:
1- It isn't a full flight and you're waiting for a no show to 'purchase' that last seat.
2- It isn't an earlier flight on the same day. It is the same flight on a whole different date.
So the only way to get on the flight the day before is to reissue the ticket (including paying any fare difference/penalties/fees). Even if W opens up, you'll still be up for the penalties/fees as per your fare conditions.
