No idea but I would think if a hotel is concerned (cheap) enough to install motion HVAC units, I would think the sensor would be set tight or narrowly focused in order to avoid accidental triggers.

In my one tangle with one, it clicked off constantly and had to get up to reset it. And I toss and turn a great deal.
