Question Same first segment flight, different inventory # when listed with different cxns?

I am curious...

I am looking at 6/6 PHX-SEA. Flight 5601 has S9, T7, L1 when connecting with UA 1260 L class all the way $195.

However, on the same screen, 5601 shows S1, T0, L0 when connecting with UA 724 - S on PHX-SFO and T on SFO-SEA $332. UA 724 is S9, T9, L0.

I had always thought the inventory numbers are the same for each flight regardless of which flight you are connecting to/from. I guess this is sort of combined with fares (PHX-SFO vs PHX-SEA) so they look like this? Doesn't it get really complicated to manage with tens of thousands of fares to all over the world that each flight can have?

Thanks.
