One question that hasn't been raised is how many of you are traveling. If it's two, then a 767 with 2-3-2 is not a bad option. Personally, in Y with no status, I would avoid the AA 773 (3-4-3) - it's great in J and F and even MCE with status but with no status in Y, wouldn't do it. BA is good if you pay for E+ but if not don't expect much.

To London, in straight Y, I would look at VS or BA's AM flight. While TATL coach is not wonderful, I think it more tolerable during the day (it's really not that long a flight) rather than trying to sleep in on the redeye (for which it is too short to really get any decent sleep).
