On a couple of Hawaii flights, I've seen the FAs in F basically maintain a waiting list of sorts of F passengers wanting to go and telling those waiting from Y that they're behind those in F. Seems like a pain for the FA, but at least gives those up front priority.

I do think it's poorly enforced on AS, but also on any other domestic carrier's comparable aircraft.
