I dont think the fare class comes into play. The 2 conditions that have to be met are:
1. Stopover > 8 hours
2. You are flying onward to a 3rd country (not back to the country of origin and not onward to Hong Kong or other Mainland China city).
Fare class certainly comes into play because some cheaper fares do not permit stopovers.
Ca doesn't have any third country rules.
