Not entirely sure I understand the "question" though. Are you curious as to whether a day trip from LCY is any different? Or possible? It's an airport that serves various short hauls destinations so a day trip is not too different than from most other airports.
It was more that I was inspired by the BA weekend daytrip promotions out of LHR, but LCY is so much more convenient and although it's not possible to do a daytrip out of LCY on a weekend I do have some free weekdays I can play with. So with plenty of Avios it seemed a way to have a few low cost daytrips.
So the reason of the thread was to see if anyone else had done the same, a bit like the LHR daytrip thread but specific to LCY destinations.
I knew AMS would be a safe option, many flights and good transport to the city.
