I disagree. Aeroplan can have some value even if you have no status, and get all your points from CCs.
The beauty (and downfall at the same time) of Aeroplan is that you never actually have to fly Air Canada (or fly at all) to accumulate the points easily.
When spend on non-scamchargeable business cabins for longhaul trips, Aeroplan can be tremendous value, given the ease of manufacturing points without flying.
