Im definitely new to the entire scene, got my first "travel" card less than 2-3 weeks ago, which was amex gold, in proccess of getting 6-7 more in next 30 days if it all goes as planned(dont ask what my score will be after lol)

but the goal would of been to get 100k+ AP points but ...?! i searched google flights (ive never left my city before so im really a big noob to everything including finding flights) and it costs $575 to leave like on june 5th from YYZ to BOG (bogota colombia, wanna backpack haha). AP wants 60k (horrible 0.9cpm), or $575 i could get easily by churning cards that offer travel credit like BMO World which is going to give me $300 (i believe after i hand in my ID to the branch on tues).

I mean i think alot of us are part of churning cards for AP points but cards that give travel credit would be so much better, atleast from my initial perspective as $575 is dirt cheap for a 4 month (june 4th to sept 17) return trip. infact i bet there are deals i could get the ticket for maybe even cheaper than $575?

i definitely know im getting amex plat now to use their 2x $200 travel credit, but if im missing the benefits of AP or overlooking something please enlighten me (one thing i think of is mini-rtw where stopovers/open jaw (Dont know much about these yet to comment properly))
