Quality was just much better. On our flight it was a choice of Pasta Ravioli with spinach and chicken with rice and veggies. The chicken was a real chicken breast, it looked and tasted significantly better than usual. The rice was perfect, it didn't feel or look like a bowl of mush. The veggies (while I am sure not fresh) appeared much better quality than before. It looked and tasted just a lot better quality than previous.
They were also pushing (free) the new drink of the month "pie in the sky"
