On the confirmation email it has me as the renter but also has her name and Costco information on it. I just want to make sure Avis wont have an issue with me picking up the car.

I can't be certain, as I'm not an Avis customer, but as long as your name is as the main renter, I don't see why not. Has your friend checked with Costco if this is possible? I alerted moderators to move this to the Avis forum, where you might get better answers.
