There are regular complaints from those that have paid for the extra leg room seats that the crew do not stop others from sitting in them and not paying. The crew were obviously following instructions from their employers and they should be commended for doing that rather than just taking the path of least resistance.

Imagine how you would feel if you had paid extra and someone else wanted the same for free. You wouldn't be happy would you?

You could have moved to any other seat in the cabin if you wanted more room.

And no not all side seats are extra leg room. Have a look at the seat maps on the VS website and you will see that the extra leg room seats are in small blocks.

If you are that unhappy then make a formal complaint to VS and see what they say. It won't be much different from what I've said.
