Have you actually your bags and not just guessed? As above, your 55L backpack will be expected to be checked in and Air NZ may weigh your 5kg carry on. 5 kg is not a a lot with bag weight, personal items, laptop, iPad, etc. Air NZ have weighed my carry on backpack with laptop, etc on trans Tasman routes. Have been a little over weight, but no issues.
