It just seems that every rental I have had recently has had some issue, whether it be this upgrade charge, incorrect fuel charge, terrible cars or the points not going onto my account. Whilst I enjoy the convenience of their locations at airports and the rewards program, I do wonder whether the effort required to resolve the issues when I return is worth it. Or whether any of the other companies are any better.
Yeah, Hertz CS call centers are a load of crap. My HLE manager tried calling the line specifically for problems at HLEs and the agent didn't know how to fix the problem and hung up on the manager... I feel you on always having something go wrong - Same thing happened to me on my first 3 or 4 rentals with Zipcar (fuel card not working, Car absolutely filthy, etc) and have had my first rental with Hertz be a nightmare. At a certain point, decide if Hertz is worth giving another chance - I have heard good things about both National and Avis, especially when compared to Hertz - Maybe they are worth a shot?
