One thing that hasn't been mentioned is O/D traffic on this route. Think of the glut of MSP-ORD and MSP-MDW non-stops. Obviously some of that is connecting traffic, but I'd bet a not-insignificant portion is O/D traffic. Shouldn't be hard to capture some of that on a twice-daily RJ flight from STC. The convenience of not having to drive into MSP is going to mean more to that set of passengers, anyhow.
