Note for customers booked on AC flights transferred to Air Canada rouge

Hello everyone, a short note for those of you who have been posting about some of our mainline flights being transferred to Air Canada rouge.

As part of Air Canada’s business strategy, select routes that are primarily flown by leisure travellers are being migrated to Air Canada rouge. This allows us to maintain service and compete more effectively in markets where there is high leisure travel demand.

Air Canada rouge has been very successful to date and customers tell us they enjoy the friendly service. The rouge product offering is highly competitive in terms of both price and seating comfort with other leisure carriers, as well as offering Air Canada benefits including Aeroplan mileage accumulation and access to Maple Leaf Lounges for eligible customers. More information about the product can be found here: http://www.aircanada.com/rouge/en/flying_with_us.html

Air Canada rouge flights are clearly indicated as such on Air Canada’s booking website. For ticket holders on routes transferred to Air Canada rouge, customers are advised in advance about their upcoming flight on Air Canada rouge. We do this via email for those who purchased directly from Air Canada, and to travel agents to communicate on our behalf for those who book through travel agents.

We are confident Air Canada rouge provides an enjoyable travel experience, however we understand that customers who booked a ticket on Air Canada and were transferred to Air Canada rouge may prefer to make a different travel choice, in which case such customers have the option to contact Air Canada Reservations for a full refund. Any customers with feedback about their Air Canada rouge flights are always welcome to contact Air Canada Customer Relations who considers each case on an individual basis. Since the launch of Air Canada rouge in July 2013, we have received very few such concerns - less than one per cent of all Air Canada rouge customers flown.

We trust that those of you who have made the decision to experience Air Canada rouge on your upcoming trip will have an enjoyable experience and we do thank you in advance for your continued support!
