Not always. If the flight was that far out they would adjust conformance, and in any case they can make a phone call to enable you to enter if on hand luggage only. I agree if it was just 20 minutes out you would be in bigger trouble.

Agree with the second point however. But I use Tripcase, which sends Android notifications of changes proactively, and if there are creeping delays you get message after message. Quite interesting to see flights creep out, then someone in Scheduling swaps over the aircraft and it comes swinging back to normal time.
