Is the YYZ-YUL load status not an open question at this point? Is there confirmation of such? If there is, I missed it. Sorry.

The two issues at hand in my mind are the status of the passenger at checkin and the subsequent timeline of the reflight. Under normal circumstances the passenger would be a confirmed 414, waitlisted 412 passenger, and the box would be tagged accordingly. Am I certain of this? No. Would I be very surprised if it transpired differently? Yes.

If we assume my assumption is correct, I believe TBH would have delivered the box to the 414 lateral, which, depending on the workload and the knowledge of SOPs of the rampie at the time, may not have been looked at until close to the departure of 414.

If the box was especially unwieldy, the lateral staff may have elected to wait until cutoff to transfer the box directly from the oddsize drop-off to the departing container. If that occurred post-412 departure, the 414 DCS would be invalid, the box would scan bad, and the resolution may not have occurred until after 414 departed depending on how pressed for time the lateral crew was. What happened after that is anyone's guess.

What's your likely scenario?

By the way, I'm no rookie... and I like my odds that my knowledge in this arena exceeds yours. PM me anytime. Coffee at YYZ is on me, and we can compare CVs if you like.
