Exclamation BA holiday, but flight was delayed over 30 hours! Help please!!

Dear all,
Wonder if anyone can help me.
I've booked a BA holiday for a 5 days trip to Istanbul. (1st April LHR to IST)
We arrived at Heathrow and been advised that flight was delayed due the weather condition (There were other flights taking off from BA), then after a while the flight was cancelled. They tried to book us to the next flight but it was full, so they put us on the waiting list,we waited at the airport for the whole day and with bad news. At the end they put us on the next day evening flight. We were accommodated by BA. But our holiday was cut short by one and half day.
We came back to London I filed a claim to BA, but response was that due the the weather condition they're not responsible for any delays because that's out of the airline's control. (But other flights took off as they gave priority to other flights).
As my booking was a BA package holiday with 4 nights hotel, instead arrive on first day noon, we arrived on the third day 1am. We lost one night hotel stay as well. But BA still kept on saying they can't do anything.
At this point what can I do? Anyone experienced this before? I felt a bit annoyed by BA's response, they didn't seem to care that it was a BA package holiday booking nor missing hotel stays.

Help me Please!
