I'm planning a trip report for our summer trip in June/July. We're taking our baby who will be 5 months old, as well as our 6 and 9 y/o daughters for their first trip across the pond (PHX-LHR-ZRH//FCO-LHR-PHX).
We decided to fly in CW, not because we spoil our kids (they're very grounded), but because we don't want to sit in Y, we want lounge access for the whole family, and because and we don't want to be those people that buy CW for themselves and stick their kids in Y by paying BA an extra fee.
So why not wait until the baby is older? We think it will be easier for him to fly at 5 months than say 18 months, it's incredibly hot in Phoenix in the summer, and I have some work obligations in ZRH before we start our holiday.
We're the type of parents who pay attention to our kids and will be respectful (some of the horror stories on here sound pretty awful), and we're pretty excited for our trip. We've been nice enough to take row 20 (low-J 747) rather than hogging the upper deck and to disturb as few GCH as possible.
That said, I see almost no trip reports on here about taking your kids in J, so hopefully that will be an interesting read for some of you. And if you want to avoid our flights, feel free to send me a private message for the dates and flight.
