Yes, I believe after the 241 used has expired (& obviously the outbound has been flown by this point) that strictly no changes can be made to the inbound.

I was looking at the calendar availability to BKK, slim pickings. It might need to end up being another trip to AUH / DXB or biting the bullet on an AUH night flight.
