Moving Statement Closing Date

I applied for this card on 4/23 and did not even think about the statement date. I realized my statement would close on 5/6 but I still had some pending charges that I wanted to be sure would post in time.
I followed the instructions here about changing the due date online, but they were unavailable for this account. I called on 5/4/14 and the agent said she could change my due date but it would take 2 billing cycles to change.
I checked on 5/6 and it still showed that as my closing date, so I thought I had tried too late. Today, it now shows my statement has not closed and has a new closing/due date!
I thought this may be useful for anyone in the same situation and shows it does go into effect rather quickly.
