I am new to starwood hotels group since early this March, but I am looking at SPG 100 this year, have challenged SPG platinum and achieved it within 2 months.

Overall I love starwood hotels, and I have given up the chances of staying all other hotels because of my lifetime SPG platinum intention.

I booked prepaid rate in Westin Diplomat Resort couple of months ago, the price recently dropped, the "Best Rate Guarantee" didn't work as it is supposed, because all they did was comparing the current starwoodhotels.com price with 3rd party's, while the prices are changing are synced on both, so they can be protected without losing anything.

However, this policy leaves SPG member only disappointed and frustrated, just because they booked early and have price locked, they will not only lose the flexibility of changing but also give the "Best Rate Guarantee" up.
