I am reminded of a story told to me by cabin crew of a first cabin taken over by an Arab gentleman of advanced years and his entourage. A young and vivacious A bird was chirping around the cabin prior to push-back, becoming frustrated at her inability to get any response; uncomfortable with such contact he sat unmoving, a falcon perched on his arm, looking straight ahead.
After a number of attempts at striking up conversation she asked in a voice described as carrying well, "So, what's the name of your budgie then?"
